PHILIPPINE UNITED KICK OFF NEW SEASON AT WEMBLEY RD.

Posted on August 20, 2010 | Categories : Archives | 0 Comment

PUFC have now moved back to Manchester and will start in The Tameside Football League, Division One from September 5th. We will start with many changes in our development to make Philippine football bigger and better.

First of all, we are now happy to welcome our new partner the SPORT4LIFE group, who helped PUFC with our first trial in Manchester in 2008.

SPORT4LIFE have had a big development in getting youth into football for many years. We find this very inspirational and use this as an idea to help build up our team here in the Northwest.

The coaches Bill Prendergast, a UEFA A licence coach, and Gareth Prendergast, a UEFA B licence coach, will assist PUFC in our first season.

We will also now welcome young players aged 14-16 years, to join our training sessions twice a week, as they are the future of PUFC, and who knows, one day they could play for their national team.

Furthermore it is in our plan for 2011/12 to join a junior league as well here in Manchester.

Philippine United work close together with the Philippine Football Federation in Manila and already had 2 players successfully on trial there.

PUFC will also start the new season with international players as the Manchester FA will not allow us to join a league with Filipino players only due to the new Racial Discrimination Act. And we fully agree this as everyone should have a chance to play and follow their passion for the game. This can only give our Filipino players inspiration and an experience to train and play along side other nationalities. We can all learn a lot from each other.

More information about our team, players and coaches will appear on our website shortly.

We hope both Filipinos and Non-Filipinos will come and support us in our new league here.

Kick off is on Sundays, 10:30am.

Fixtures and match details can be seen on our link for Tameside Football Leagues. Our first game will be home against Acress Inn FC on September 5th and our home games will be played on a lovely 3G Astro-turf pitch.

Our home ground will be:
50 Wembley Road
Gorton Education Village
Manchester M18 7 PG

We look forward to see you all there and together we can give PUFC a good start.

Mabuhay!
