PHILIPPINE UNITED GIVE COACH PARKIN A HAPPY SEND OFF TO THE PHILIPPINES WITH A 100% RECORD OF 6 WINS FROM 6 GAMES
Yes, Philippine United wins again in style with a convincing 5 – 0 home victory against Harpenden Rovers.
Once again, we started with some wonderful flowing football, and completely took the opposition apart. The goal surge started with a well took goal from our star player Raymond Tordecilla and others from Richie Caparros with 2 and Michael Cepillo, giving us a very comfortable lead to take in at half time.
After the break, we started just like we finished the first half, with another well took goal from leading scorer, Anielo Mone, and then we got a little sloppy for twenty minutes or so, letting Harpenden back in the game with half hearted challenges and bad distributions, but nothing that our defence couldn’t handle.
Once again, keeper Keith Townsend kept a clean sheet, and solid performances coming from the two central defenders, Garey Reyes and Renee Banao. Raymond Tordecilla, as usual, showed great skills in the first period, but the Man of the Match went to Michael Cepillo, for his vision and his tenacity and general attacking play.
As all you Philippine United fans can see, we are quickly turning into a very good outfit and keep giving performances for people to start taking notice. Our Club Founder, Leo Jensen has watched the Philippine National team perform in Iloilo a while ago, and I, myself have seen them also play numerous times, plus I have studied the Asian cup video recordings recently when they played in Maldives.
We both agree that our team, Philippine United would give the Philippine National team more than a good game. If the National team only played with players from the Philippines(meaning no foreign imported players), then I’m sure we could even beat them. I have been watching football in the Philippines for over ten years now, but quite honestly I haven’t seen football as good as what we play.
Remember, I was the Head Coach of De La Salle for a short time, who at that time, were considered one of the best teams in the Philippines, but I can assure you all that PUFC would have no trouble beating them any day of the week.
Well I’m sure also that Mr. Martinez will be very pleased with my full report on Philippine United when I arrive in Manila next week and I’m also sure that he would relish the contest between both teams, so let’s hope it will take place in the very near future.
Keep the faith all you football fans.
